Here are a few photos I finally managed to upload.

Well I´ve made it through my first week of school! For it only being a week I feel like I´ve come pretty far. In the beginning I was really shy and didnt talk much, but then when this girl Jessica, for the second time, asked me why I was so quite I realized that I needed to be more outgoing. Im a total stranger here and a foriegner and I need to take advantage of that. I can choose any personality I desire if I want to, and they won´t know if its the "real" me or not. So I applied that thinking and I think that it has benifited me greatly. Ive made a fool of myself a few times, but that´s all part of the experience!
I got to play soccer for the first time today! Here in Brazil they play a game called futsal, which is soccer indoors on a small court. It has a few different rules, but its still soccer (futebol they call it here). It was a good experience because it was a way for me to make new friends without having to talk. Also I just love soccer so it was just fun.
It´s Carneval here right now, a huge holiday and I think that my family and me are going to go somewhere for the weekend, though I´m not sure where! I´ll have stories when we return though I´m sure!

I have arrived

I am here now! it has almost been four days (it´s 9:00 pm here) and everything is going great. Im living in a very nice appartment on the second floor where I can look out from my room at an old part of the city, with beautiful old tile roofs, that is being preserved for some reason. The family who is hosting me is very nice, my brother and father speak english well and so that has helped the beginning of our experience together. My mother however doesnt speak english, which is good because that means I will have to learn portuguese! I also have a host sister who is 10, she is really shy though and I havn´t had a chance to get to know her yet. My host brother is in my class at school, and I had my first day of school today. I could follow chemistry on the board, but I couldnt understand any of the other classes. The food is great, lots of meat, of all kinds! especially beef though. There is so much more to say! but I don´t want to spend to much time on the computer in the beginning of my experience at least, so I am going to stop here. Overall, everthing is great, going better than I could have imagined. I will update you all soon.
